She's A Runner Girl is a program for Laramie elementary and junior high school girls in grades 3-6 in which the girls participate in one-hour weekly sessions at the University of Wyoming Indoor Track for seven weeks in the spring.

The sessions combine running and self efficiency activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. The end of the season is celebrated with the Happi-ness 5K race on May 17.

Who: Girls in 3rd thru 6th grades from all schools in Laramie

What: The curriculum will combine training runs and self-confidence building activities to foster healthy living

When: Tuesday evenings from April 8th-May 20th from 5:30–6:30 pm

Where: Indoor track at the University of Wyoming field house

Goal: The program culminates with the 28th Annual Hapi-ness 5K on
Saturday, May 17th at Laramie Junior High School at 8:30am. We will
have one final meeting on the Tuesday after the race to share our race
experiences and reflect on the program.

Entry: $20 (checks only), which includes not only the 7 week
sessions, but also the She’s A Runner Girl T-shirt, entrance to the
Hapi-ness 5K race, the race T-shirt, and membership into the High
Plains Harriers (see highplainsharriers.org for member benefits and discounts).

NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE:
Ten NEED-BASED scholarships will be awarded this year, which
includes a 50% entry of $10 for the program, a pair of running
shoes, and athletic socks.
If you require a need-based scholarship, fill out the form on the back and
have your daughter write a letter which contains a short paragraph
explaining why she would like to be a Runner Girl. Mail application by 3/25.
Scholarships will be awarded by 4/3.
