Sex Abuse Charges Dismissed Against Cheyenne Man
The case against a 40-year-old Cheyenne man who was charged with third-degree and fourth-degree sexual abuse of a minor has been dismissed.
Cheyenne Police Officer Laura Michael said that the victim's father, who is Crerar's adopted father, reported the alleged abuse last August after his daughter "stated that she'd been sexually abused by Crerar for years."
According to Michael, "Crerar moved in when (the girl) was 13 years old" and the alleged incidents began when she was 15 and he was 34.
"He placed his penis on her arm," said Michael. "He stated he would kill himself if she told anybody."
Crerar's attorney argued that her client "was joking around and trying to make her upset."
"There's no testimony about him being aroused," she said. "Sexual abuse is more than what's alleged here."
Circuit Court Judge Denise Nau agreed and dismissed the charges.
