The Snowy Range Summer Theatre season closes out its season on July 11th through the 14th with a production of the Tony nominated musical Romance/Romance.

Romance/Romance, produced by the UW Department of Theatre and Dance and directed by UW faculty member Lee Hodgson, is a pairing of two one-act plays that explore the roller coaster that love can be.  The first act takes place in 19th century Vienna and is based on the story of The Little Comedy by Austrian writer Arthur Schnitzler.  The story follows a whimsical affair between a well-off bachelor and a socialite who are each secretly slumming it.  Bored and Cynical, the two pose as paupers in search of true love, where they find each other.

The second act is a circa 1980s update of Jules Renard's 1898 play Le pain de ménage.  The story follows a two married couples sharing a summer home in the Hamptons, but when their respective spouses retire for the evening, a pair of life-long friends find themselves progressing to something less platonic.

The 2012 Snowy Range Summer Theatre production of Romance/Romance features UW Department of Music faculty members Dr. Larry L. Hensel and Dr. Nicole Lamartine as the lead actors in both acts.  Dr. Hensel is currently coordinator of the department's Vocal Arts Area and is Director of Opera Theatre.  Dr. Lamartine is the Director of Choral Activities at UW.

Romance/Romance runs nightly at 7:30 PM July 11th through the 14th.  Tickets are $10 for the general public and $7 for seniors, students, and children over 5-years-old.
