There is a five kilometer race starting in downtown Laramie on July 12. The Toodeloo 5K Run/Walk Race, sponsored by the Hospice of Laramie, is part of the Laramie Jubilee Days celebration that takes place July 5-13 and starts at 8:00 a.m. that Saturday.

Registration for the event starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. Those wanting to participate can register in advance online at www.hospiceoflaramie.com/events. Registration is open online until July 8 for $20. People can register by paper after July 8 and on the day of the event for $25. Registration paperwork can be picked up at the Hospice of Laramie or at various businesses around town.

Participants get a free t-shirt as well as pre and post-race food along with other goodies.

Kids will have the opportunity to participate at the race as well. Starting at 7:30 a.m., children can run in the Toddle-loo race. The children’s event is a 100 yard dash that is free for kids participating. Although the Toddle-loo does not provide free t-shirts, every child participating will get a certificate for free ice cream.

The route for the 5K starts at the First Street Plaza at First and Ivinson. After a short run in downtown Laramie, participants will go over the railroad walk bridge to West Laramie where they will go along the greenbelt trail before returning to the finish line at First Street Plaza.
