Girls in the Laramie area in fourth to eighth grades will have the opportunity to participate in a program designed to help young girls to grow.

The Dare to Dream program, presented by Soroptimist International or Laramie, will take place on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event takes place in the Grand Room of Ivinson Memorial Hospital and is free for girls to attend.

The event features speakers on eating disorders, bullying (including social media and cyber bullying) and information on skin care and makeup. In addition, a fashion show, courtesy of Maurices of downtown Laramie, will be put on for the girls along with a discussion on proper clothing and dressing for specific body types.

Becky Peck with Soroptimist International says that this is a great program to help girls in learning how to take care of themselves in specific situations. She adds that it also provides a great mentoring opportunity.

Lunch will be provided during the program.

Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. Those wishing to pre-register can do so by contacting Becky Peck at backyp@bresnan.net or by calling 307-760-0558. You can also contact Sandra Eike at sandraeike7214@gmail.com or by calling 307-760-5590.

Those who pre-register through email will need to provide the participant’s name and age, a parent or guardian’s name, and an address.
