Last July the Albany County Commissioners were presented with an opportunity for a land purchase in the Laramie foothills on the east side of town.

It’s the Pilot Hill Project. This is just over 5,500 acres that would be made available for public use.

After signing an agreement to purchase the land in October 2017, the transaction must be completed by October 2018. An appraisal of the land in January 2018 lowered the purchase price to $10.5 million.

Wyoming Senator Chris Rothfuss is the chairman of the Funding Oversight Committee. He was a recent guest during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show with host David Settle. Senator Rothfuss provided a brief update on what’s going on with the land purchase.
