Question:

I've noticed a lot of people driving without headlights in the morning and even as late as 9-10 p.m., and I know of at least two people that were in accidents because of this. How do the police officers not see this as often as we do?

Answer:

"There are around 32,000 people in Laramie. Conservative calculations of traffic within the community indicate that there are over 50,000 vehicle trips per day. The Laramie Police Department makes over 8,000 traffic stops per year, with an average enforcement rate of approximately 35%. Our sworn staffing provides one officer for every 680 residents. As Sir Robert Peele, one of the founding fathers of modern policing said, "the police are the people and the people are the police." Don't be afraid to be part of the solution! If you observe traffic violations or criminal activity of any kind, you can report it by calling 307-721-2526. If it's an emergency, call 911.

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “How can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
