Two California residents could face up to 25 years in prison after a Wyoming trooper found nearly 90 pounds of marijuana in their car.

According to an affidavit, 24-year-old Eduardo Pimetel-Tafolla and 21-year-old Ana Esmeralda Sanchez-Rodriguez were pulled over for speeding on Interstate 80 near Cheyenne on Jan. 10.

The traffic stop led to a search of the car and three large bags containing approximately 86.8 pounds of marijuana were found in the trunk.

Pimetel-Tafolla and Sanchez-Rodriguez were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and conspiracy to deliver marijuana.

The two are currently being held in the Laramie County jail on $10,000 cash bonds. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for Jan. 16 at 1:30 p.m.
