The Naughty Pines Derby Dames are getting close to finishing their third successful season of roller derby. They only have one final home bout this Saturday, August 27th, at the Ice and Event Center and one more away bout in Cheyenne on September 24th. The dames are hoping to gather the crowds for a big celebration of their 2011 season this weekend as they bout against Casper’s A’Salt Creek Roller Girls. While this season featured a repeat bout against Denver’s Wreckin’ Roller Rebels, most of the bouts NPDD has played include first time competitions against Cheyenne’s Capidolls and Fort Collins Choice City Rebels and upcoming bout against Casper’s A’Salt Creek Roller Girls. The development of new teams in Wyoming joining the 20th century resurrection of roller derby this year held the beginning of Wyoming vs. Wyoming bouts and rivalry.

In addition to holding multiple sell out crowds at NPDD’s standard venue during the 2011 roller derby season, the Dames have finally increased in numbers allowing them to hold their first intra-league bout competitions at the Laramie Plains Civic Center featuring NPDD’s newest teams, the Bad Aspens and Wicked Wyldflowers. This season also held the first in NPDD dames’ attendance at the Las Vegas annual roller derby convention, Roller Con, and Greeley Stampede Skates and Spurs Tournament.

Although we are currently in a losing season, 1-2, there is still time for NPDD to make a come back. Because of this and all the new and exciting progress the dames have made this year in training, recruitment and new rivalries, NPDD hopes that attendance will once again be present for our final home bout of 2011 this coming Saturday at the Laramie Ice and Event Center. Doors will open at 6pm and the bout will begin at 7pm. Further ticket information can be found HERE.
