The NBA rookie season of former Wyoming Cowboys star Larry Nance Jr. might be cut short due to lingering injury issues.

A report came out Tuesday from NBA writer James Herbert on CBSSports.com saying the Los Angeles Lakers are considering not playing Nance for the rest of the season because of circumstances surrounding a knee injury that’s bothered him most of the season.

Nance has played in 43 games this season with 22 starts. He’s averaging 5.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in nearly 20 minutes per game. Nance appeared in the Lakers last game on Monday night, but played only 9 minutes and 34 seconds with two points and three rebounds. He was forced to leave that game with knee soreness.

The Lakers are back on the court Wednesday night at Memphis.
