Musical About Laramie History Presented by The Unexpected Company

The senior community theatre group The Unexpected Company is performing "Fable, Foibles & Follies of Laramie City," which is billed as an hysterical, historical musical review. The show will cover Laramie history from 1860-1890.

Actor Wayne Karberg says the musical will consist of multiple skits being performed in two acts. Many characters from Laramie's past will tell tales of Laramie from its tent city days up until Wyoming became a state. According to Karberg the whole production is "tongue in cheek," meaning historical accuracy is not guaranteed, but entertainment is. He also mentioned that some skits have been cut and added from the performance of this production that was done in 2006.

The musical will open on June 1 at 7 p.m., then they will have performances on June 2 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. before closing on June 3 with a 3 p.m. show. Performances will be held at the Horse Barn Theatre at the Wyoming Territorial Prison and tickets include admission to the prison on the day of the performance. Tickets are $15 for those over 12 and $10 for 11 and under and can be purchased at the Laramie Plains Museum Gift Shop, the reception desk at First Interstate Bank on Ivinson and the Eppson Center for Seniors.
