After a grueling three day competition, Miss Laramie Jubilee 2017 Morgan Wallace has been crowned Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2018. The competition ran from August 11 to August 14, 2017 at the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas. Wallace competed with Shelby Martin of Rock Springs, Karyn Rieger of Sheridan, and Cara Carper of Riverton for the title.

The contestants competed in 10 categories, including: horsemanship, speech, and personality. Wallace faced some challenges during the competition, including riding unfamiliar horses and having only 10 minutes to prepare a speech before going on stage.

As part of her Miss Rodeo Wyoming duties, Wallace will travel across the country attending rodeos and educating people about Wyoming rodeo, the agricultural industry, and what she calls the "Western Way of Life," which includes: being humble, working hard, and displaying integrity She will get her start at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver in January 2018.

Before her tour kicks off though, Wallace will be hosting a coronation in Laramie this October. While the date and location are yet to be determined, Wallace says of the coronation and the title that "it's a celebration for Laramie, and we're bringing it back home."
