American Cowboy musician Michael Martin Murphey will make the first stop of his 25th Cowboy Christmas tour in Laramie on Friday, November 25. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.

Murphey first arrived on the music scene in the mid 1960's as a songwriter. He contributed to the Monkees' wildly successful album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones Ltd by writing their song "What Am I Doing Hangin' Around." Murphey also wrote songs for artists such as Flatt and Scruggs and Kenny Rogers before moving back to Texas in the early 1970s.

Murphey focused on writing his own songs and signed with A&M records in 1971. He found major success in 1975 with his hit single "Wildfire," which sold over 2 million copies. Murphey released his first Christmas album Cowboy Christmas: Cowboy Songs II in 1991, and has recorded an additional 2 Christmas albums, titled Acoustic Christmas Carols and Cowboy Christmas III,
