The Cowgirls faced the New Mexico State Aggies for their first game in the 2018 WNIT Tournament. Senior Liv Roberts helped lead the Cowgirls to a 67-59 victory with a career high 28 points.

The Cowgirls came out strong in the first half, scoring the first six points of the game and leading the game 35-30 at the half.

New Mexico rallied in the second half, cutting the Cowgirls lead down to two points, 40-38. The Cowgirls responded by increasing that lead to 8 points, 46-38. The Cowgirls clinched the victory after 4 free throws and a layup leading to the final score of 67-59.

Cowgirls Joe Legerski said in a press release that "I think this is what the postseason is all about." About Roberts' performance, the coach added "I knew that Liv was excited to play in her first postseason game and you saw a senior really step up."
