The last day to view two University of Wyoming Art Exhibitions highlighting the Cowboy State is quickly approaching.

The last day to see “South Pass: Wyoming Arts Council Biennial 2015” and “Western Visions: William Gollings, Conrad Schwiering and Hans Kleiber” is Saturday, August 1.

“South Pass: Wyoming Arts Council Biennial 2015” presents the work of six Visual Arts Fellowship recipients. They are June Glasson and Diana Baumbach, from Laramie; Do Palma, of Cheyenne; Suzanne Morlock, of Wilson; and Thomas Macker and Aaron Wallis, both of Jackson.

“These artists represent some of the best artwork being created in Wyoming today,” says Susan Moldenhauer, UW Art Museum director.

The exhibition, curated by Marjorie Vecchio, explores various themes that express contemporary life in Wyoming.

“Western Visions: William Gollings, Conrad Schwiering and Hans Kleiber” provides a selection of artworks in diverse mediums -- oil and watercolor paintings, drawings and prints -- from the art museum’s collections, depicting the uniqueness of Wyoming’s place in the West.

Gollings (1878-1932), Schwiering (1916-1986) and Kleiber (1887-1967) depicted Wyoming from epic myth to sentimental nostalgia. Each artist envisioned Wyoming through the splendor of the landscape, and the people and wildlife that inhabit it.
