Laramie’s Colter Nunn is a National Champ [VIDEOS] [PHOTOS]

Laramie is home to a national champion light rifle shooter after Colter Nunn won the national title in Tennessee last week.

Nunn finished with a score of 632 and won the championship buckle at the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Lebanon, TN, which is just outside Nashville. His margin of victory was five points over Brock Alder from Utah.

Nunn had a score of 316 in the qualifying round June 20 and came back in the finals June 21 with the exact same score. His winning total broke down with scores of 110 prone, 101 standing and 105 kneeling.

It was an overall busy week of competition, as Nunn competed in three other rodeo events. He finished in 13th place in the cute dogging with a three round total time of 10.82 seconds.

A quick 2.81 second time in the first round had Nunn tied for 9th place. He was 19th in the second round at 2.98 seconds. Nunn was in 10th place entering the finals last Saturday night, June 24, when he struggled to turn over his calf and finished in 5.03 seconds. That put him in 14th for the finals.

Nunn also competed in Ribbon Roping and Tie-Down Roping during the week of rodeo action. After a no-time in round one, Nunn and his partner, Haiden Thompson, took 28th in round two with a time of 13.51 seconds. Nunn recorded a pair of no-times in both rounds of Tie-Down Roping.
