Laramie ranks among the top college towns in the country. Out of the 280 cities reviewed by the personal finance site WalletHub, Laramie ranked at number six on the list.

The review by WalletHub was recently picked up by Forbes, showing Laramie as the sixth best college town in the USA.

The folks at WalletHub used three equally weighted dimensions to determine the college towns that would best provide an environment for intellectual and personal development as well as being affordable for the students. The dimensions used were “Wallet Wellness”, “Youth-Oriented Environment”, and “Opportunities”. A list of 23 metrics was then identified within those dimensions.

Laramie scored in the top sixth in all dimensions: scoring 13th in “Wallet Wellness”, 46th in “Youth-Oriented Environment”, and 22nd in “Opportunities”.

In individual metrics, Laramie scored number one for Cost of Higher Education, having the most affordable college out of the entire field of 280 towns and cities.
