While it may not be considered a rite of passage or anything similarly fancy, it is an annual tradition before the start of the local American Legion baseball season. Today is the Laramie Legion Baseball program's Potato Supper and Silent Auction fundraiser.

The event will take place at the Laramie High School cafeteria from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults, while children under 12 are $3. They accept cash or check, as well as Visa or MasterCard.

The silent auction includes Rangers merchandise, golf baskets, gift certificates to various restaurants in Laramie, an ATV rental, a two-night stay at a condo in Steamboat Springs, CO, Zane Beadles autographed Super Bowl memorabilia, and so much more.

You do not need to be present to win an item from the silent auction.

All the proceeds benefit the Laramie Legion Baseball program to offset costs incurred during the upcoming 2014 season.

This year's season begins later this month and continues into August. The home opener isn't until early June.

KOWB (AM1290) is proud to be the home of Laramie Rangers baseball once again for the 2014 season. Our broadcast coverage will begin in late May and continue through the post-season.
