The Laramie High School basketball teams will play their final two non-conference games today and tomorrow at home.

Laramie welcomes Rock Springs for a girls-boys doubleheader tonight and Green River for a second girls-boys doubleheader midday tomorrow.

Laramie Plainsmen

The Plainsmen are 5-3 on the season and just had their four-game win streak snapped with last Saturday’s loss to fourth-ranked Evanston.

They face Rock Springs (2-7) for the second time in eight days. They beat the Tigers by 31 points in the first meeting. Knowing the Rock Springs will want to avenge a poor performance last week, LHS boys head coach Chuck Kern expects the Tigers to come after his squad.

“It’s been a long time since the Plainsmen have had a target on their back. Some of these guys haven’t had that in their basketball careers, so it’s going to be exciting to see how we react to that.”

Tonight’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Saturday’s game against Green River (0-8) will be at 1 p.m.

Laramie Lady Plainsmen

Laramie’s girls have won three straight coming into tonight and are now 4-5 this season.

The Lady Plainsmen will get another shot at Rock Springs (4-5), who beat them by 8 points last week.

“We feel we’re getting better each time out, and I think that’s the goal,” said head coach Kyle Stucky. “You want to finish better than you started. We’re certainly making progress from opening weekend to last weekend, I saw big strides; just a maturity process. The kids are growing on the floor, and it’s neat to see.”

Tip-off for today’s girl’s game is at 5:30 p.m.

Tomorrow, the Lady Plainsmen will take on Green River (2-6) at 11:30 a.m.
