Laramie Man Arrested in Downtown Stabbing
A Laramie man was arrested on a charge of felony aggravated assault after being identified as a suspect in an alleged stabbing in downtown Laramie. .
Aaron S. Johnson, 42, was taken into custody on the evening of Nov. 24. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and aggravated assault, which is a felony.
A possible stabbing was reported at about 10:30 p.m. that night, and officers from the Laramie Police Department responded to the 100 block of Ivinson Ave. along with members of the Laramie Fire Department EMS staff.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim with a non-life threatening stab wound to the back of his leg. The victim provided a description of the man he said stabbed him, and officers commenced a search.
Their suspect was located a short time later and identified as Aaron S. Johnson. Johnson was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana when officers contacted him.
Felony aggravated assault is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Possession of a controlled substance-marijuana is a misdemeanor. If convicted on that charge, Johnson could face up to 12 months in prison and a fine of $1,000.
