Wyoming elected officials and community leaders will gather for a panel discussion this week in Laramie in celebration of National School Choice Week.

The discussion, “The Future of Education,” is to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. in the Phoenix Ballroom at the Laramie Plains Civic Center.

Dicky Shanor, Chief of Staff at the Wyoming Department of Education, and Tilly Elvrum, Board President of the National Coalition for Public School Options, will be present as well as local community leaders. Student parents and other members of the public are welcome to attend.

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week highlights education options for students, families, and communities around the country.

Jan. 20 through 26, more than 40,000 independently-planned events will be held. More information can be found at www.schoolchoiceweek.com.
