The Laramie High School basketball teams are back on the road tonight, as they face-off against the East Thunderbirds in Cheyenne. It's the second to last game of the regular season for both squads.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (9-12, 2-6) are coming off a nice seven-point win last Friday over Cheyenne South. They are trying to finalize their seeding for next week's 4A East Regional Tournament in Cheyenne.

Laramie head coach Kyle Stucky says, "We feel like we need one more win to solidify our spot going into the regional tournament."

Tonight LHS will meet a hot, 3rd-ranked Cheyenne East team that just beat then #1 Sheridan and #3 Gillette last weekend. The Lady T-Birds (18-3, 6-2) also dominated the Laramie girls, 55-18, just three weeks ago in the Gem City. The Lady Plainsmen shot just 15 percent from the field in that loss and had 22 turnovers.

Stucky added, "Cheyenne East is on a terror. They had big wins against Sheridan and Gillette, so we know they're coming in strong, playing well. We've got to be able to match their intensity."

The girl's game is set to start at 5:30 p.m.

The Laramie Plainsmen (4-17, 1-7) are entering tonight's game off their first 4A East Conference win of the year last Friday. The 14-point victory over Cheyenne South gave the Plainsmen their first win in over a month.

They are also jockeying for position for next week's regional tournament.

In tonight's game against the 4th-ranked East T-Birds, LHS will seek a little revenge, after East came to Laramie three weeks ago and defeated the Plainsmen, 70-57. That was a game where the T-Birds pulled away from Laramie in the fourth quarter.

Plainsmen head coach Chuck Kern says, "East is really talented and physical. We know we're going to get into a real battle with them. We're not the most comfortable team in physical match-ups, but we did play well with them (in the first meeting). It should be an exciting opportunity for us."

The boy's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The Laramie High School basketball doubleheader will be broadcast on KOWB (AM 1290) and by clicking here. David Settle and VerDon Hoopes will call the action starting at 5 p.m.

The Lady Plainsmen and Plainsmen will conclude the regular season with their "Senior Night" at home on Friday, when Laramie hosts Cheyenne Central at the LHS gym.

The girls'-boys' doubleheader will be at East High School.
