The opening tournament of the brief high school golf season saw both Laramie High School teams end up in third place.

The Plainsmen shot a two-day total of 660 and finished behind Cheyenne Central (623) and Casper Natrona (645) at the Airport Golf Course.

Senior Ryan Bellflower came in second place after shooting a 146. He was eight strokes back of medalist Jared Edeen from Central.

Sophomore Colby Clay carded a 166 and finished in a tie for 15th place.

The Lady Plainsmen ended the two days with a 554 total. Scottsbluff, NE won the girls team title (514). Sheridan came in second (517).

Junior Amanda Warren fired a 179 total and came in eighth place, which was two strokes better than senior teammate Jacquie Perdue, who finished ninth.

Cheyenne East's Mariah Farden took medalist honors in a playoff after a 161 total.

Laramie returns to action at White Mountain Golf Course in Rock Springs on Thursday and Friday.
