Despite trailing early, the Laramie 9-10 All-Stars came back for a 14-9 victory over Cody Wednesday at 2014 Wyoming State Little League tournament.

9-10 All-Star manager Jerry Dodd said, "I am very impressed with the boys' will to bounce back when they were down by three. They responded by scoring runs to regain the lead and kept the pressure on."

Laramie was down 6-4, but rallied with a pair of five-run innings. Those came in the fourth and fifth and propelled the Laramie All-Stars to a 14-6 lead. They withstood a late charge by Cody and held on for the five-run win.

Garrett Dodd, Ben Ruckman and Riley Hogsett led a 13-hit attack. Dodd was 3-4 with a triple, while Ruckman was 2-3 at the plate with a triple. Hogsett added a double, as part of a 2-3 day offensively. Diego Medina went 2-2 and also drew a pair of walks. Medina was the winning pitcher.

Laramie moves on to face Gillette American in the semifinals at 5 p.m. today.

Dodd said, "Gillette will bring their best game every time we face them. The boys need to be ready, as it will not be easy."

Gillette American topped Big Horn 14-4 in five innings in the first game on day one of the state tournament.

Big Horn will face Cody in a loser out contest at 2 p.m.
