Kristi Racines of Cheyenne has announced she is running for Wyoming State Auditor.

The self-described fiscal conservative is a Certified Public Accountant who is currently the Chief Financial Officer for the Wyoming Supreme Court office of Court Administration, where she also serves as Director of Human Resources.

Racines was born in Casper and grew up in Riverton, Evanston, and Bar Nunn. She holds degrees from the University of Wyoming in accounting and Spanish.

She describes her self as "a rock-solid fiscal conservative and eagle-eyed accountant, focused and methodical," pledging to "protect our beloved state" if elected.

She says she wants to be State Auditor "because I actually want to do the work, I will meet the high standards of Wyoming people because it is what I do now."

Since the Auditor also sits on state boards, she promises to bring "a conservative, cost-focused perspective that protects our financial resources and our public lands." Racines joins state representative Nathan Winters in the race for Auditor.

Incumbent Republican Cynthia Cloud has so far not announced whether she plans to run for re-election.
