Former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen will have an opportunity to impress NFL personnel after accepting an invitation Wednesday to play in the Senior Bowl.

The game will be Jan. 27 in Mobile, AL. It will be televised on NFL Network and will kick-off at 12:30 p.m., Mountain Time.

Allen just graduated in December with a degree in Social Science. That made the fourth-year junior eligible to play in the Senior Bowl. Allen is considered one of the top QB prospects by numerous NFL draft experts.

Wyoming completed the 2017 season at 8-5 with Allen as its starting quarterback. He led the Cowboys to a 37-14 victory over Central Michigan in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. It was right after the game that Allen declared for the 2018 NFL Draft. He also led UW to an 8-6 mark in 2016, a spot in the Mountain West Championship game and the 2016 Poinsettia Bowl.

Allen concluded his Wyoming career with 5,833 yards of total offense and was responsible for 57 touchdowns. He threw for 5,066 yards and 44 TD passes. Allen added 767 yards on the ground and 12 rushing touchdowns. He even caught one TD in his career. It was at Nevada in 2016.

He becomes the 26th Cowboy to play in the Senior Bowl. The most recent were receiver Robert Herron and defensive back Marqueston Huff in 2014.

Allen is the eighth and final QB that will be part of the Senior Bowl. The coaching staffs of the Broncos (North) and Texans (South) will coach this year’s squads.
