Ivinson Ledge-Ask the City

What was the thought behind the paving on Ivinson? The bike lane has a 1-2" ledge in the middle, making it dangerous to ride.

Answer:

"Long term, the city plans to reconstruct Ivinson between 9th and 15th. In the interim, however, the roadway must be maintained in a serviceable condition, so a patch was completed to maintain the surface until such a time that the roadway can be rebuilt. This particular section was patched due to its poor and worsening condition. The main driving lanes were completed before the university came into session. The lip has since been patched over and eliminated."
