This Saturday in Laramie, February 11th, Ivinson Memorial Hospital will be hosting a public health fair in their west atrium to promote health and well-being for the Laramie community.

Several free and low-cost screenings will be offered during the fair, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 7-11 AM in the West Atrium of the Hospital. The event is open to the public and there is no entry fee for admission.

There will be free screenings for blood pressure, osteoporosis, vascular disease, pulmonary function, & sleep at the health fair.

Some of the screenings that will cost money, but are being offered at reduced rates include blood screenings ($30), which include a chemistry panel, lipid panel, TSH and CBC.  Additionally, a PSA is available for men for $15. Those intending to have a blood screening are advised to fast for 12 hours before the event unless they have been advised otherwise by their physician.

Walk-in screening mammograms will also be available for women who have not had a mammogram is the last year. These will be at regular price but can be submitted to your insurance.

The fair will also include chair massages, healthy snacks, and healthy cooking recipes. The staff at Ivinson encourages community members to take advantage of these screenings. The Community Pride committee at Ivinson is sponsoring this event as a project to promote a healthier community
