How much do you know about the Western Meadowlark? It is Wyoming's state bird. I don't think it is a coincidence that the bird sports brown and gold. They are often seen on fence posts along the side of the road. They are most likely found in the summer. They eat  insects and seeds and are members of the blackbird family. The western meadowlark and the eastern meadowlark are nearly identical. The only way to tell the difference is by their song. Not only is the western meadowlark the state bird of Wyoming, but it is also the state bird for Montana, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Oregon. Although many states may claim the bird, I still believe it is a fan of the UW Cowboys first. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.
