UPDATE: 3:30 p.m. March 5: The Wyoming Department of Transporation has issued the following statement on the southbound lane of Interstate 25 from Cheyenne to the Colorado state line:

''Road Closed Due To Wind Events In Colorado. The Colorado State Patrol is closing I-25 to all high-profile vehicles. Any high profile vehicles, van-trailers and box trucks must use Exit 7. All other traffic is permitted.
As of March 05 at 03:06 p.m., the estimated opening time is unknown."

Winds of over 60 miles per hour, combined in some areas with blowing snow, are causing travel restrictions on Interstates 80 and 25 in southeast Wyoming as of mid-day Monday.

Interstate 25 was closed to light, high-profile vehicles all the way from the Colorado state line to Wheatland, with an ''extreme blow-over risk" warning posted for the same stretch of I-25 posted by WYDOT.

Strong winds, although no travel restrictions, were also posted for I-25 in the Casper/Douglas/Glenrock areas.

Meanwhile, Interstate 80 was closed to light, high profile vehicles between Cheyenne and Laramie as of noon on Monday.

Snowfall and strong winds were also reported on Interstate 80 between Laramie and Rawlins, although at last report no travel restrictions had been imposed for that stretch of Interstate 80.

The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service, meanwhile, is warning people to expect strong winds across southeast Wyoming until about 8 p.m. Monday.
