On Thursday October 13th the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences will hold its annual Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation. Keynote speaker for the event will be Wyoming Governor Matt Mead. The Honors Convocation will begin at 3:30 pm in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium.

The Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation is free and open to the public. During the convocation two undergraduate scholars will present their research. The two undergraduate scholars are Noelia Antweiler a senior from Westminster, CO and Jay Gentry a senior from Flagstaff, AZ. Antweiler is majoring in theater and dance with a minor in psychology. She conducted work at the Northpoint Correctional Facility in Burgin, KY and her presentation will be based on her research from her time spent there. Gentry is majoring in History and English with minor degrees in professional and creative writing. His talk will be based on his studies of a World War II war crime trial involving General Tomoyuki Yamashita.

Adding to the night will be a performance by the Wyoming Jazz Ensemble. The ensemble is directed by the UW Department of Music’s Associate Professor Scott Turpen. If you would like more information about the Keith and Thyra Thomson Honors Convocation click here, or call 307-766-4106.
