With all of the hustle and bustle that surrounds Christmas these days, it is pretty easy to forget about the reason for the season; the birth of Jesus Christ. This weekend on Saturday and Sunday night, from 6PM to 8PM, Laramie's First Baptist Church will hold their living nativity, which is a great reminder of what Christmas is all about. Viewings of the living nativity will occur every half hour throughout the evenings so plan accordingly. Event organizer Morley Langdon gave us a little insight into exactly what the living nativity this year will include, and it sounds like it will be a great time for the whole family. During the course of the living nativity the Christmas story will be read with breaks for Christmas music that everyone can sing along with including We Three Kings, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Silent Night and more. There will be volunteers dressed up as the characters in the Christmas story along with of course a manger and the baby Jesus as well. It will be a unique time where adults and children alike will be able to experience the Christmas story and the importance of the holiday as a whole.

This event is free to the public, and with weather looking nice this year for the event the church is hoping to have a good crowd. If you do want to bring something to the church they will be collecting baby gifts like diapers, formula, etc... that will all be donated to Interfaith-Good Samaritan who will use the gifts to help people in our community this holiday season.

After the living nativity, the First Baptist Church will be serving cake, cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and more. On Christmas Eve the church will hold a Candle Light service at 7PM and we will have an extensive list of times for Christmas Services at churches across the city up shortly as well.

Morley Landon did mention to us that they are still in need of livestock animals (Sheep, Goats, Lamas or Donkeys) for the nativity this weekend. If anyone would be willing to help provide these animals, the church would be very appreciative. You can contact Morlet Langdon through email or at (307) 742-2845 for more information.
