Laramie, WY—Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center, a local non-profit organization, announces its first annual fundraising event, Talent for Tots. Talent for Tots is a talent contest open to anyone with a talent they would like to share. $350 in prize money is up for grabs to the person or group displaying the best talent. Talents can include (but are not limited to) music, magic, dancing, juggling, or any other talent that can be performed for an audience.

“It’s sort of like ‘America’s Got Talent’ on a local scale,” said Jaime Stine, Executive Director. “Auditions will take place January 27th and 28th, then the top 7 performances will be selected to show off their talent at the final event on March 4th.”

The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise money to provide services to children birth-5 years old with a disability or developmental delay. Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center works with these children to help them overcome their disability and learn how to be successful in school. “With funding cuts at the State level, local fundraisers are essential to ensure we can continue the best services for the children and families we serve,” Stine explained. “We also hope that the fundraiser will help to improve public awareness of our organization in the community.”

Auditions for Talent for Tots will be held January 27, 2017 from 6-7:30 PM and January 28, 2017 from 10 AM-1 PM at Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center at 1771 Centennial Drive. Entry fees to audition are $10 per act and may be individuals or groups. Acts will be notified the following week if they have been selected to perform at the final event. Talent for Tots will be held March 4, 2017 at the Albany County Fairgrounds Activities Building at 5:30 PM. In addition to the final round of the talent contest, the event will include dinner, cash bar and a silent auction. Costs to attend are $15 per adult, $5 per child 5-12 years, and under 5 are free. Table sponsorships are also available.
Developmental Preschool & Day Care Center is a non-profit organization providing child care to all children in the community, offering a sliding fee scale for low income families, and developmental services and preschool to children with disabilities at no cost to the families. 48% of the families we serve are low-income with an additional 30% being moderate income families. We serve approximately 275 children each year through the variety of services offered in our program. DPDC strives to provide quality early intervention services to children birth to 5 and child care to children birth to 12 years. Our goal is to encourage growth through quality education, exploration and developmentally appropriate activities in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social emotional, and speech language development.
