Additional Information

Sierra Hull feat. The Railsplitters will perform at the University of Wyoming Wednesday, February 8 at 8:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Wyoming Union hosted by 7220 Entertainment. This event is free and open to the public.
Sierra Hull is an American bluegrass singer, mandolinist and guitarist. Hull has been recognized from age 11 as a virtuoso mandolin-player, astonishing audiences and fellow-musicians alike. Now a seasoned touring musician nearing her mid-20s, Hull has delivered her most inspired, accomplished, and mature recorded work to date. Hull’s sound is in the world of folk-pop, bluegrass, and acoustic music. She speaks eloquently, in her challenging and sensitive originals, her heartfelt vocals, and breaks new ground on the mandolin. Her latest album “Weighted Mind,” recently received a Grammy Nomination for Best Folk Album.
The Railsplitters are a bluegrass group that uses new influences to break the bonds of bluegrass and unleash tradition. From boundary breaking trip hop and electronica groups like Gorillaz and Thievery Corporations, to more direct influences like The Infamous Stringdusters and Lake Street Dive, the musical potpourri heard in their time on the road eventually began to seep into the band’s own music. Their new album is “The Faster It Goes.”
