Homecoming Dance

LARAMIE – 7220 Entertainment will host the annual homecoming dance on Wednesday, October 25th in the Union Ballroom. The event will begin at 8 p.m. with dance lessons from Cowboy Country Swing Club followed by a performance by Ryan Chrys and The Rough Cuts beginning at 9 p.m. This event is free and open to all UW students.
Ryan Chrys and The Rough Cuts are country music award winners. They have won Denver’s 2017 Westword Music Showcase Award for Best Country Band and Entertainer of the Year for 2016 Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame. The band, formed in 2013, includes Ryan Chrys, Bradley Weaver, Susan Phelan and Michael Jochum. They are known to have a unique and edgy country sound, which has lead them to travel many states throughout the country.
Ryan Chrys, the lead guitarist, and vocalist began his musical training at a young age with his mother who was a folk and country singer. Bradley Weaver, on vocals and lap steel, is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Susan Phelan on bass plays the stand-up and electric bass and sings. Michael Jochum is a skilled drummer who has toured with many well-known bands.
Cowboy Country Swing Club, a Registered Student Organization, is known for bringing people together for music and dancing. With more than 1,300 people in attendance, they broke the Guinness world record for the world’s largest swing dance last spring.

7220 Entertainment’s Club Events Committee is responsible for organizing the Homecoming Dance. The committee meets Mondays at 5 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center, located in Room 012 in the Wyoming Union.
