A woman has been arrested after an accident in downtown Laramie that left at least three people injured after she allegedly backed into them after drinking.

The Laramie Police Department investigated an accident on Friday, July 11 around 7:50 p.m. at the 100 block of Grand Avenue. The investigation revealed that a red 1999 Nissan pickup truck, allegedly driven by Jennifer A. Finnerty, had backed into a crowd of people, causing injury to at least three victims.

This led to the arrest of 47-year old Finnerty for DWUI, no insurance, and three counts of misdemeanor battery.

DWUI is a misdemeanor which can be fined up to $750 and six months in jail or both. If someone has three DWUI convictions within a 10 year period, it is a felony. Misdemeanor battery carries up to six months in jail and $750 fine or both for each count.

The incident is still under investigation by the Laramie Police Department.
