Ever wanted to take your kids to Disney World but didn’t quite want to get plane tickets and pay close to a $100 ticket fee for a park pass? Or maybe you and your family just need a little mini-vacation? Either way, Disney on Ice has you covered since they are coming to the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.

Disney on Ice will be in Loveland on Thursday, March 22 through Sunday March 25. Shows will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7pm, with matinees at 11am and 3pm on Saturday and 1pm and 5pm on Sunday. The skaters will be preforming a show entitled 100 Years of Magic, which features not only skating, but high-flying acrobatics as well.

Over 65 Disney characters will be present, so even if your little ones don’t remember Aladdin and Jasmine of my generation, they are sure to recognize new characters from stories like Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Toy Story. And of course, Mickey and Mini Mouse will make an appearance.

Make sure you buy your tickets in advance because it will save you both time and money on the show day. Tickets through the Budweiser Events Center cost between $101-$165 per ticket. However, with a little googleing around, I found more competitively priced tickets ranging between $80-$130 on Concert Ticket Center, Stub Hub, and Ticket Liquidator. There did not seem to be a difference between attending a matinee and an evening performance, probably because the Disney Corporation knows that it is actually more advantageous for a family with young children to go to an earlier show than try to keep the kids up late.

If you’re still not convinced that you should shell out that much cash for a two hour performance, check out these YouTube videos of past Disney of Ice performances. Disney also has more professional videos on their website, but you are not able to make them full screen.

If you decided to make the trip to Loveland, I hope you are not disappointed. Perhaps you will be so inspired you will drive the last hour to the airport and head to Disney World to experience the whole shebang.
