Students and community members are encouraged to participate in the Cowboy Challenge Mud Run Thursday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. at the top of the hill behind Jacoby Golf Course near Willett Drive.

The event is free to all University of Wyoming students and $5 for others. Students can sign up for their teams of two or more people at www.imleagues.com. However, all teams can sign up in person starting at 2 p.m. before the race.

“The challenge is for all UW students and community participants who want to test their skill, strength and stamina through a 5K course of obstacles and physical challenges,” says UW police officer Cody Seals, the event’s director. “Plus, it gives newly arrived students a chance to get outdoors and meet other like-minded students before the cold sets in.”

The challenge sponsors are the UW Police Department, UW Intramurals, and Air Force and Army ROTC, with support from the Centennial Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
