One of the contested races for the August primary in Albany County is for a seat on the county commission.

The League of Women Voters of Laramie and the Albany County Public Library are co-sponsoring and hosting a candidate forum tonight. This is your opportunity to meet and ask the candidates questions.

The event is free and open to the public from 7-to-9 p.m. at the public library, located at the corner of 8th Street and Grand Avenue.

League of Women Voters of Laramie Voter Service Chair Nancy Lockwood visited with David Settle Wednesday during ‘Laramie Live on KOWB’ about this forum. Susan Simpson also joined the conversation.

According to Lockwood, both democratic candidates and five of the six republican candidates will be in attendance. Lockwood discussed the forum, invited any candidate running for local office to mix and mingle, and she also previewed two more forums in early August.

If you are unable to make tonight’s forum, they are recorded and available on the Wyoming League of Women Voters YouTube channel.

A similar candidate forum was held last week for city council candidates in Laramie Wards 1 and 3.
