Tomorrow is Laramie Community Service Day.  At 7:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the historic Wyoming Territorial Prison, the Community Service Day Committee will serve a hot breakfast to all volunteers.

Plantings will follow breakfast, from about 8:30 to noon.  In all, 19 trees, 34 shrubs, and 30 perennials will be planted between Interstate 80 and Garfield Street, along the north and south sides of Snowy Range Road.

For 14 years, the City of Laramie and the Laramie Beautification Committee have worked together to host an annual Community Service Day.  Each year, the Laramie community has produced enhancements to the city, including sports field improvements, beautification projects, large-scale tree plantings at city entryways, and landscaping of recreation areas.

Once again, the volunteer efforts of the University of Wyoming’s “Big Event” will coincide with this year’s Community Service Day.  Families, individuals, friends and neighbors can all come out for a morning of work that will help create a better Laramie.
