What started as making comical videos for their friends and family has become a nation-wide pheromone. And it is coming to UW. Barats and Bereta, a comedy duo who has solidified their fame via YouTube, are going to be performing a free, sketch comedy show at 8pm this Wednesday in the Union Ballroom.

Barats and Bereta met in college and began creating humors videos, which now have received over 100 million views on YouTube and over 400,000 subscribers. The two meet at Gonzaga University in the theatre department and the school’s improve comedy group. While they originally started making videos, the two have also been involved in other aspects of media. They have created and produced a sketchy comedy pilot call “This is Culdesac” for NBC. They have also created a sitcom pilot called “Pre-Mature.” They continue to develop these projects while taking their sketch comedy show on the road.

Barats and Bereta’s sketchy comedy show will include elements of their videos, but will also be improvisational in nature. Some of the main characters that Barats and Bereta have developed, such as their missionary characters, will be sure to make an appearance.

However, if you attend this event, you will also get to see local sketch comedy performers as the winners of the Student Activities Council’s stand-up comedy competition will be preforming.
