Cheyenne Man Killed in Rollover Crash

A Cheyenne man is dead after he was thrown from his car during a rollover crash north of Chugwater on Sunday.

Vincent Paustian, 21, was driving a 2003 Subaru Impreza southbound on Interstate 25 on the morning of May 22. According to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Impreza drifted off the highway to the east shortly before 10 a.m. near milepost 58, about three miles north of Chugwater.

The Subaru was overcorrected and traveled across both southbound lanes before it tripped and rolled multiple times.

The Patrol says Paustian, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

Excessive speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash which led to the 19^th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. By comparison, there were 48 fatalities in the same period last year.
