A 26-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to 70 years in prison after allegedly selling heroin and methamphetamine to a police informant.

Cody Ahrens made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court yesterday (Monday) morning.

Ahrens is charged with two counts of delivery of heroin, delivery of methamphetamine and two counts of third offense possession of a controlled substance.

According to an affidavit, a confidential informant with the Cheyenne Police Department bought heroin and meth from Ahrens on two separate occasions between Oct. 9-20.

On Nov. 9, detectives contacted Ahrens in the 200 block of W. 18th Street. Police say Ahrens had $426 and a holster on him and admitted that there was a gun and meth in his car.

A search of the car yielded a Glock 27, 2.2 grams of meth, $100, multiple plastic jewelry bags and one-and-a-half suspected Xanax tablets.

Ahrens was arrested and interviewed, and reportedly admitted to being a meth and heroin dealer.

Ahrens is currently being held in the Laramie County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 21 at 9 a.m.
