CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Republican and Democratic candidates for Wyoming's U.S. Senate and House seats say they're willing to participate in a debate before the Nov. 6 general election.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that Wyoming Public Television already has reached out to the candidates to try to coordinate the events.

Sen. John Barrasso didn't participate in a Republican debate before the Aug. 21 primary, citing obligations in Washington.

But Barrasso campaign chairman Tom Wiblemo says the senator would debate Democrat Gary Trauner.

Trauner says he would prefer multiple opportunities to debate Barrasso.

Republican Rep. Liz Cheney says she is going to participate in a potential debate in October if Congress isn't in session.

Cheney's Democratic opponent, Greg Hunter, has challenged Cheney to participate in five total debates across the state.
