Actor and comedian Cheech Marin will discuss his extensive Chicano art collection on the University of Wyoming news and information program “Wyoming Signatures” Sunday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m. on Wyoming Public Television.

“Wyoming Signatures” producer Ali Grossman profiled Marin during his recent visit to UW. He owns one of the largest Chicano art collections in the United States, some of which is displayed in the UW Art Museum.

Another segment profiles Maestro Gerald Schwarz, who was a Wyoming Excellence Fund eminent artist who worked with UW students and faculty this fall. He draws from a career spanning every aspect of music -- from solo, chamber and orchestral performances to conducting, composing and advocating for the arts. Schwarz, music director of the All Star Orchestra and the Eastern Music Festival, served 26 years as Seattle Symphony Orchestra conductor.

Additionally, the Farmers’ Almanac predicts a piercing cold this winter in the High Plains. “Wyoming Signatures” producer Steve Costin and UW Extension educator Cole Ehmke will team up to pass along some inexpensive and easy ways to cut down on winter home heating costs.

“Wyoming Signatures” is produced by UWTV of the University of Wyoming Outreach School. Wyoming PBS can be seen over the air and via cable or satellite in communities throughout Wyoming. A complete list of channels can be found at www.wyoptv.org/channels.
