Tickets are going fast for a ticket give away to Wyoming Veterans for the UW football game, October 13th against U.S. Air Force Academy.

The University of Wyoming football team is off to an 0-3 start in 2012 after losing to Cal Poly 24-22 on Saturday in Laramie. It is UW’s first loss to a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team.

Cowboy football fans will get a special treat before Wyoming takes on Cal Poly this Saturday with the first ever Fan Fest. The free celebration will be in the Indoor Practice Facility from 1-3 p.m. on September 15th.

The biggest loss for the University of Wyoming football team may not have been the one on the scoreboard. The Cowboys lost to Toledo 34-31 and are waiting to see if they've lost Brett Smith for more than just the final six minutes of Saturday's game.

The Wyoming Cowboys inability to stop the run proved too much to overcome, as UW lost their 2012 season opener to the 15th-ranked Texas Longhorns 37-17 Saturday night at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The Longhorns rolled up 280 yards rushing on 47 carries and had two running backs top the century mark in the victory.

The University of Wyoming football team held their first official practice in Laramie on Monday, August 6th. The typical excitement of the start of a new season was very evident among the 103 players, which represented a depth UW football has not had before under fourth-year head coach Dave Christensen.

The University of Wyoming accepted an invitation Sunday to play in the 2011 Gildan New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 17 at University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M. The sixth annual game will kick off at Noon, Mountain Time. Wyoming will face the Temple Owls of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Wyoming and Temple will both enter the New Mexico Bowl with 8-4 records.
