A Casper man died Tuesday after his vehicle overturned on a slick stretch of highway in southern Wyoming.

Kevin R. Brown, 34, died at the scene. He was not wearing his seatbelt, according to a statement from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred north of Rawlins on U.S. 287 shortly after 10:30 a.m. Brown's 2003 Chevrolet Suburban had been northbound when it drifted off the right shoulder of the highway and overturned.

The Patrol is investigating the possibility that Brown may have been driving too fast for conditions. The roadway was slick at the time of the crash.

Brown is the tenth person to die on Wyoming highways in 2019. That's compared with three deaths by this point in 2018, two in 2017 and three in 2016.
