A consultant on the project to renovate Wyoming's Capitol says it's unclear if the work will be completed in time to meet the state's target of having the building ready for the 2019 legislative session.

David Hart, Executive Vice President with MOCA Systems, said Thursday the work on the foundation of the building could push the timeline back.

State officials and program managers previously said they hoped to finish the $300 million project in late 2018.

If the Capitol is not ready for the 2019 session, the session could be hosted in the new underground connector being built between the Capitol and Herschler Building.
