Your Question:

Why is there not more traffic control at the intersection of 22nd & Reynolds Streets? This area is very congested in the mornings and afternoons and with having a fire station in the same block makes for a dangerous situation with kids.

The City's Response:

The City has also observed increasing congestion at the Reynolds St./22nd St. intersection and nearby. New residential and commercial development to the north, east, and south of this intersection, and probably increased traffic at the Junior High School, all seem to contribute. New developments, such as the potential Cirrus Sky project, will likely push numbers higher at some point. The City has committed to a traffic study in 2013 at 22nd and Reynolds. A traffic study can produce the data needed to determine whether additional traffic controls (e.g., a signal, 4-way stop, etc.) are warranted.
