A bill that would legalize hemp extract for Wyoming adults is being proposed in the 2019 session of the Wyoming Legislature.

House Bill 100 would allow residents over the age of 18 to possess hemp extract without having to register to do so. It would also allow adults to give the extract to minors or adults classified as ''vulnerable" due to physical or mental health issues. The Bill is being put forward by Rep. Stan Blake (D-Green River).

Blake proposed two similar bills in the 2018 legislative session, both of which failed to win approval. Hemp, like marijuana, comes from the cannabis sativa plant, but hemp contains only tiny amounts of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in pot.
